Business Blogging Tips – 2
06/04/2012
You won’t know if blogging works as a successful marketing tool for several months. When you start a blog the first two months are considered to be the most difficult as you will feel as if you are posting, and no one is reading. Keep focused on posting consistently and creatively for this two-month period. If you can do this successfully, which means you actually post something on your target dates, then you probably have what it takes to run a successful blog. If you can’t be consistent for two months then you probably don’t have what it takes to maintain the blog. At this point you can consider outsourcing blog posts, or just cancel the blog.
You might consider the direction of the blog. Instead of just marketing or a sales tool, consider solving reader’s and potential customer problems. Think of questions and concerns your audience has or better yet, ask them. Then address those concerns on the blog. For example, a mechanic shop can discuss car maintenance tips and tell readers what they need to know before buying a new car. A florist can discuss ways to get more life from their flowers arrangements or how to choose the right flowers for the occaision.
