Roger Hetherington B.Sc., Ph.D.
Roger brings his tremendous experience to Cambridge to leverage the uniquely successful business planning model developed by Business Plan Services.
After a brief spell developing new refractory products for iron and steel production, Roger held Senior Technical and Commercial management positions in the food industry with companies that included Mars Confectionery, McCormick Foods and Homepride Foods. Over a period of 15 years Roger played pivotal roles in the launch of several, major new products and in significant new business development.
From 1995 to November 2011 Roger applied this experience as a Business Adviser with Business Link, to help over 100 businesses across Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire develop and grow. This involved working with owner/managers to each gain an objective understanding of their business through diagnostic review and then drawing out the strategic implications so that effective action plans could be developed. For a good number of these businesses he helped raise funding to support technological innovation and many received help to draw up successful marketing and business development strategies. In all of this he was guiding the owner/managers through essential business planning activities enabling them to achieve the success they sought for their companies.
More recently, Roger led and managed successful teams of business advisers with Business Link, thus indirectly helping many more business owner managers in the Cambridgeshire area to respond to the challenges of the market and develop effective growth strategies.
As well as specialising in writing and reviewing business plans and hosting a series of business plan workshops, BPS Cambridge provides support with all aspects of effective business planning including:-
- marketing messaging for positioning and increasing sales
- strategic marketing planning for new market entry and/or new product/service launch
- ‘pitch’ development and presentation training for fund-raising
